ZEN -Sabbatical
Long Term Retreat
“At the still-point in the center of the circle one can see the infinite in all things.” -
Chuang Tzu |
Would you like to spend some time on a "lonely island"? Then a sabbatical or long-term retreat at the Zenklausen is the ideal choice. You live in a tiny house and meditate in the peace and quiet of the Eifel Nature Park. In this silence you can take time to recover from the demands of everyday life, to regenerate and to reflect on personal issues, so that you can return to life strengthened and refreshed.
DescriptionDuring that period you will stay in a cosy little house of about 45 m2. There is a small kitchen with dining area, a meditation area, a very comfortable bedroom and living room, a fireplace and a bathroom with shower and toilet. Each hermitage also has its own small garden with seating. At the same time, you can use our wonderful Zen facility and Zendo (meditation hall) individually for your time-out. For more information please follow the link: "Stay"
If you would like to participate in the daily activities during your sabbatical, please speak to us on site. Generally, each guest is responsible for the cleanliness of their own hermitage even during the sabbatical. With prior agreement from the Zenklausen management, small gardening tasks around your own hermitage can also be incorporated during the sabbatical. This somewhat aligns with the concept of shinrin-yoku (森林浴) (forest bathing), which emphasizes integrating with nature. Shinrin-yoku also describes the intentional, mindful, and unhurried engagement with nature, free from haste or worries. All senses are engaged, making this experience a meditative act in connection with the surroundings. Please note that the individual contemplation does not include guided meditation. You meditate for yourself or with guests who have also booked the individual retreat. According to your wishes. If you are interested in being accompanied during your individual retreat, we offer this at your convenience from Monday to Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m or in the evening. The fee for each guided unit of 90 minutes is 60,- €. |
